About Me
Growing up, I was mesmerized by the artistry in fly fishing and, specifically, fly casting. While in graduate school, I had an officemate who fly fished. He sold me one of his older fly rods for $75 and, just like that, I was a fly fisherman. For me, fishing began on a nearby lake catching bluegills. I quickly expanded my fishing to include large and smallmouth bass and ultimately fell in love with chasing trout in the Driftless and throughout the U.S. In 2019, I decided I wanted to become a part of the fly fishing industry and fly casting instruction seemed the perfect entry point for me. Along the way, I have had the privilege to meet some fantastic people - eager beginners who are going to be die hard fisherman, peers who are incredible fisherman and fly casters and mentors who are pioneers in the fly casting industry.
In 2022, I became a Fly Fishers International Certified Casting Instructor. It has been remarkably fulfilling to coach fly anglers, whether it be helping the eager beginner learn to fly cast and net their first fish on the fly, or assist the more accomplished anglers learn to make adjustments to their own casts on the fly. In all cases, the ultimate goal, “Improve your cast, catch more fish!”
